Short Fall was a curatorial project at Hand and Heart Gallery in Nottingham exploring failure as a vehicle for humour and an indicator of function or intent. Featuring work by Jeffery Baker, James Bowen, Corinne Felgate, Rebecca Gove Humphries and Mark Selby and essays by Alex Vasudevan and Jonathan Watts.
I presented Burn, an audio work responding to the precarious nature of the gallery space situated above a pub through which the gallery was accessed. ‘Burning Down the House’ by Talking Heads played intermittently throughout the gallery space heightening the encroachment of the bar below into the space and acting as a foreboding prophecy of the future of the exhibition space.
