Short Fall was a curatorial project I developed for Hand and Heart Gallery in Nottingham exploring failure as a vehicle for humour and an indicator of function or intent. Featuring work by James Bowen, Corinne Felgate, Rebecca Gove Humphries and Mark Selby as well as myself and essays by Alex Vasudevan and Jonathan Watts.
I presented Burn, an audio work responding to the tension between gallery and its neighboring pub downstairs. ‘Burning Down the House’ by Talking Heads played intermittently throughout the gallery inviting the bar below into the space and acting as a foreboding prophecy of the future of the exhibition space.
