The End is part of an ongoing project to disseminate a variable message using WiFi routers. In this piece a message concerning the coming apocalypse offers hope or a sense of foreboding promise to the viewer depending on their location within their environment and the technology they use to view the work with. These are publicly visible network names that offer alternative interpretations and meanings depending on the location of the viewer. The work interacts with existing networks in its vicinity incorporating them into its narrative.
The work was developed for After the World Event, an exhibition held at One Thoresby Street in september 2012 exploring the apocalyptic nature of global scale events.
